Great Quote

When history is turned into scripture and men into deities, truth is the victim.

Getting it right.

In a post by Bob Sutton Fear-Based Performance Management at Fox News? he is talking about an alleged memo from the Fox executives. He made this observation about the memo where "...getting it right rather than getting done as quickly as possible will be rewarded --which is a step away from from fear and toward quality".

There always seems to be time to fix mistakes (and place blame), but never the time to do it right the first time.

Cycling into work - Day 2

Last Thursday I finally got off my butt and biked my way into work. 7 miles in via the direct route and a little over 9 miles back via the scenic route.

So after giving my body a bit of a break to get use to it and with the decent weather it was time to do it again.

It will be interesting to see 1) How often I do it. (I want it to be the norm, not the exception); 2) How my body adjusts to the exercise and my endurance increases.

Right now I think Lance Armstrong's Tour de France record for most consecutive wins is safe. I am sure he is relieved.
